Ladies for Sale

A display within a San Francisco shopping center exhibited eight young women with prices attached to their bodies. The displays, component to a campaign by the Working Group Against Human Trafficking, sought to focus on the issue of individual trafficking and to raise awareness of the problem. The advertising featured the women’s age range, weight, height, and other measurements. They also included their countries of your pregnancy and sexuality. In the process, the women’s reviews and the function of the artists were taken to light.

An installation called “Women for Sale” was created by Task Push upon Human Trafficking in Laxa, sweden, as part of a campaign to produce consumption of sexual products a criminal offense. The unit installation was an interactive set up, which exhibited real women and their prices with all the data they could provide: elevation, weight, and measurements. The goal was to raise awareness of this kind of practice and also to collect enough signatures to pressure the ministry to take action.

The women on display in the assembly were displayed in the store’s window with price tags and details of their height, fat, and other measurements. The prices with the women were put up next with their photos, as well as the price tags included their country of source.
